Day 7: Thursday, June 2, 2005
A New Hotel; A New City Today
We checked out of the Majestic Hotel in Nanning today and headed north.
Today we left Nanning and traveled 5.5 hours by bus to Guilin. It was a long hot ride, but Abby was great - no crying. She's the best baby in China. I hope she's not saving her bad behavior for home. We saw a lot of pretty scenery along the way and a lot of tiny, very poor villages. The highway is beautifully landscaped the entire way and there is only 1 city between Nanning and Guilin. The rest is country/farm.
Once we got out of the city, we saw lots of farms and workers in the fields. Some workers were sweeping the birm of the highway by broom.
Abby napped for about an hour then woke up ready to play. This was the first day that we actually made her smile. She loved the bus and even sat by herself for a little while.

We are in our new hotel, Guilin Royal Garden Hotel. It is very nice, but does not have internet access in the room. Oh No.
We watched a pretty cool show from our room. Our view is overlooking the garden cafe'.
There were several other really good acts, but our photographer fell asleep.
